I think I’m finally starting to settle into my new schedule. After a week of trying to figure out what the hell I’m doing and when, I’m finally finding my equilibrium.
A huge debate this week had been whether I should do dance ensemble or this one class. Dance ensemble would be a great stress release mid-way through the week, and the class would be a lot of extra work, but rewarding and interesting.
After auditions last night, I think I’ve decided to stick with the class. There were some girls there who had been dancing for a really long time, and it’s a much better fit for them. I think I did well, but I’m not expecting that I would be cast. If I am cast, I’ll just explain that I (regrettably) don’t think it will fit in my schedule.
Surely, after reading this blog, you all know that I really, really don’t need another hobby. Seriously.
Here’s hoping that sticking with this class isn’t the final nail in the coffin of my social life.
In other movement news, there’s a really cool dance happening Saturday night. It’s a vintage Hangar dance, happening at an air force garage in Minneapolis. We’ll be dressing up in fabulous vintage-wear and dancing the night away next to some authentic WWII airplanes! Pretty sweet – hopefully I’ll have some pictures for you all after that’s over.
Tonight is Tapestry dancing. I may or may not go, depending upon how sore my muscles are at the time. Because right now, stairs are a problem. Swing Dancing might also be a problem.
